Announcing the Opening of the SCBPP Interpretive Center Demonstration Site

The Seattle Black Panther Party Legacy Group is excited to announce the upcoming opening of our demonstration site of the Seattle Black Panther Party Interpretive Center in early 2026! This initial location is currently being curated and constructed in the historic Metropole building in downtown Seattle. A permanent location is being negotiated in Seattle's Historic Central District. The demonstration site will feature interactive exhibits, historical materials, and programming that communicate the revolutionary ideals, survival programs, and the power of community organizing that were on full display during the years that the Black Panthers were active. Stay tuned in coming weeks for interviews with key contributors Ruby Love, Elmer and Aaron Dixon, and project manager Gia Hamilton which will fill in specifics about the community history project they’ve been hard at work on.
